Hand Clinic

By 22 September 2017February 20th, 2024No Comments

The Constantia Hand Clinic was established more than 15 years ago. The hand clinic has been specifically set up in order to provide a comprehensive service to patients with acute and chronic hand conditions. This is done in conjunction with hand therapists.

The Cape Joint Surgery continues to provide a extensive elective hand service, with a specialist interest in degenerative conditions such as nerve entrapment, and arthritis management and soft tissue disorders such as trigger fingers and Dupuytren’s contracture. Skeletal- as well as musculotendinous hand and wrist injuries are also managed by us. Dr Martin is available for workers compensation cases. Both surgeons endeavour to make themselves available telephonically as frequently as possible for consultations regarding management advice and/or radiological opinions.

Hand patients may, as always, be referred to the Cape Joint Surgery. The secretarial staff will then arrange an appointment as appropriate. If the patients are told to attend the hand clinic without prior appointment, they will be seen by the doctor on call on that day.
